Changing the way you
receive healthcare

  • Filling Prescription Drugs

Getting prescription drugs filled through the plan is easy. You can fill prescriptions at any network pharmacy or AHF Pharmacy, many of which are inside AHF Healthcare Centers. (By clicking on the link above, you will be taken to the AHF Pharmacy website. AHF Pharmacy is operated by the parent company of PHC California, AIDS Healthcare Foundation.)

Remember, for the plan to cover your prescription, you must have a network provider write it. The exception is if the prescription is from an emergency room visit. Or it is from an urgent care visit.

To find a network pharmacy, go to Network Provider, Facility and Pharmacy Search.

If you need to fill a prescription and you are out of Los Angeles County, you can go to any network pharmacy. If no network pharmacy is available, you may be able to fill your prescription at an out-of-network pharmacy. Before you use an out-of-network pharmacy, contact Pharmacy Customer Service first. We will check if there is a network pharmacy available. If no network pharmacy is available, we will tell you what to do to. Or we may arrange to have your prescription delivered to you from a network pharmacy

We follow the a formulary. If we made a coverage decision on a prescription drug and you or your doctor disagree, you can appeal.

More detail about the plan’s pharmacy benefit is in Chapter 6 of the Membership Guide.
